You can ‘t say that you don’t love a wedding with a twist. I have had the honor of shooting at The Atrium at Flint Hill in Norcross, Georgia on many occasion. This event was with Spectrum Entertainment, which provided the DJ entertainment for the evening and gave me the honor of being their photographer for the evening. Matt and his team from Spectrum always keep them on the dance floor. Way to keep it going guys. I spoke of a twist. On occasion a bride and groom will have a theme, well this couple loves Star Wars. They went all out with a themed grooms cake, and the ceremonial exit was also Star Wars induced, not only with Darth Vader’s march, but a light saber arch covering the couple as they exited the alter. Much to the surprise of the groom. The night ended with a great saber battle. Great fun Dee and Clay! May the Force be with you. Hope you enjoy the slideshow.
Wedding Day at the Biltmore Hotel in Atlanta
A beautiful wedding day spent with Vanessa and Joshua at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. A “modern chic” styled wedding, she like to call it, that it was. I had a lot of supporting help from cameramen Scott Smith and James Dunn. The setting was made even more beautiful by the creative hand of Christie Niq Williams. Great work everyone, this lovely couple deserved it. Congrats Vanessa and Josh.

As I prepare to leave the studio for another wedding event on this beautiful fall day, I want to take time to share the above video with you. The occasion was the wedding of Cassie and Vinny on August 12, 2012. The location was the Georgia Club golf and tennis resort in Athens, GA. Matt Osbourne, of Spectrum Entertainment, provided the DJ services and Allen Gunn was the event photographer. Working with these two professionals is always a pleasure. The bride and groom really enjoyed this team and as the day went on we recorded some wonderful memories for them and their families. Even though this event location is close to my studio, this is the first opportunity I have had to film there. It is a very beautiful facility with golf course and tennis courts, and a very roomy ballroom that can accommodate large groups. The location’s coordinating team is very good and I have been fortunate to have worked with this same team at other venues.
The reason this video is a little late being posted is that like all posted videos I like to give the clients a chance to view and approve before we publish to the web. It may be a little late but still enjoyable.
Congratulations Cassie and Vinny!

July 28th began as a beautiful sunny afternoon, moving into the last hot days of the season. The setting could not be more spectacular, Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. Today would be the wedding day of Jocelyn and Booker. An excited couple that was surrounded by a very supportive family. Most of the afternoon we enjoyed the air conditioning within the Inn, then onto the lawn overlooking the vineyards, a peaceful setting. Under the shade of a large oak tree the couple stated their vows, to the joy of the family. In Chateau Elan fashion, the reception was beautiful, music and laughter, especially from several toasts that were shared.
Thanks to Chateau Elan and many thanks to Janet Howard Studio, a good friend and fantastic photographer that brought me along for this occasion. Always a pleasure working with her studio. While I am offering gracious thanks to everyone, I do not want to forget Kesha Nettles at Watermark Weddings.com. She was such a great coordinator to work with, spot on with every detail. We were not off schedule a single moment, and I saw nothing but smiles from everyone. She must have done something right! The daywas a great success!
Congratulations Jocelyn and Booker!

I have just added another beautiful wedding day video. The wedding of Sarah and Blake on May 5th, 2012. This was filmed at their parents home in Atlanta. It was a beautiful setting, as you can see in the video. With a very happy bride, grinning ear to ear with excitement. She almost fell over when the doves were released during the ceremony. That was only the second time I had seen doves released, it was a nice surprise from mom.
I really loved shooting this video. Utilizing our Nikon Dslr’s to capture most of the footage, such a beautiful look. We filmed about 90% of this wedding with HD Dslr’s the other bit with Sony Z5’s, see if you can tell the difference. It is amazing what these Dslr’s will do(in the right hands of course). I had the pleasure of filming it with a great friend of mine Scott Smith. The DJ for the evening was Scott Mikell with Spectrum Entertainment, the photography was provided by Dianne Hudson. Good job guys! Be sure to watch it in HD, it is always better.
Congratulations Sarah and Blake!

Should we video our wedding? Oddly enough, being a photography and video studio, I get asked that a lot. Should we get video? My answer is always an emphatic…YES!! Of course! It will be extraordinary!
Seriously tough, that is a question to pose to yourself well before your wedding day. We have seen the trend in the past few years of clients looking for video just months before their ceremony. It is one of the last items on the list. Sadly so. It is actually hard to believe. Don’t get me wrong, I love photography. that is my passion, and where I thrive best. Photography captures an essence of the wedding like no other media. With the camera in the right hands. But that is for another article. Video tells a story that needs to be told, in a way that cannot be described by photographs.
There is a product that I am currently working on [Read more…]
Music Copyrights and Your Videos.
Everyone loves photos and video. Everyone loves music. Putting the two together make a perfect blend. Problem is, I own all of the photographs and videos that I take. Just like the musician owns his music. If people see my photos online and copy them for their own use without paying me, I make no money and I cannot stay in business. The same goes for music. Being in this business I understand the plight of copyrights, and I truly [Read more…]
Zoom Hn4 Digital Voice Recorder Review
[singlepic id=254 w=420 h=340 float=left]Getting my gear ready for the new season, and ramping up a bit in the audio side. I have added the Zoom Hn4 to our arsenal. This is going to be a great new tool for capturing beautiful audio with our video footage. Audio is one of the key ingredients to quality video production. If you have poor or fluctuating sound quality it can damage any video production. With this particular model you can capture multiple tracks, from multiple sources at the same time. For instance, capture the ambient sound of a church wedding, while also capturing a lapel mic placed on the groom to capture their vows. Brilliant. I have had the opportunity to handle it around the studio, and I can say it is a very intuitive piece of equipment. The controls are easy to navigate, and recognize, even in the darkest of situations.
The XY configuration of the mics is very important for stereo sound, and with the capability to capture the direction of the sound from 90-120 degree, is a helpful tool. The possibilities of using this as a shotgun mic on our DSLR is very exciting.
Battery use in the field is also a concern. But with the ‘Stamina’ setting, the Zoom Hn4 shuts down a few of its functions to save on battery life. A very nice option.
As I have not had the chance to utilize it in the field, I cannot yet give it a full thumbs up. Yet I am very eager to see the results of our next shoot. I will keep you informed.
Check out their site for more information on this product. See it here Zoom Hn4
Enjoy!
