Photography has been my “passion” from a very young age when my father gave me my first camera. As I began to learn more and more about this new marvel, the excitement of youth quickly turned to the realization that this was, in fact, my future. I began to hunger to learn everything I could about composition, color, textures, lighting and the art of photographing faces, people and places. I began to see the world through this new creative “eye”. My father always told me that if I found something that I loved doing, got really good at it, and made it my life’s work; that I would never “work another day in your life”. His words came true through this gift to a young boy.
I was finally able to begin my life’s work when I began our studio in 2003. Our main focus at the time was a blend of wedding photography and cinematic video. That is still a major facet of our work, but our portfolio has greatly expanded from that beginning. Maternity photography, infant and youth photography, family and corporate portraiture, high school seniors and sport teams and event photography, party and event photography and video, commercial product photography, architecture and real estate photography and video, commercial photography and video for marketing and the Web…. the list seems to continually grow, but adding new facets and conquering new challenges just increase our “passion”.
Our studio staff also has grown with a team of professionals who work to make everything from planning and scheduling, through the actual shoot, to the completion of post production as efficient as possible while maintaining a world class level of creativity and control. Post production including photo retouching and enhancement, album design, video editing and production are handled in our studio. We utilize a select group of professional providers to do our photo and album printing. Our goal is to provide a quality product and experience.
Though many of our projects and assignments may, to an observer, have what could be called sameness, in truth, each is in many ways unique. I try to approach each project with a “new eye” to see and capture that uniqueness. My approach and style has been developed through experience, heart and instinct. Every client has their own taste, expectations and dreams. I discuss with my clients what type of photos from my portfolios, or other sources, they particularly like or would like to see. This discussion helps determine what style, or combination of styles, will best meet the client’s expectations.
“Capturing images to hold your memories” is not just our catch phrase – it is a commitment.
